Trip to San Antonio

We took our first little family vacation. We went to San Antonio and had such a great time. We went to the Riverwalk and saw the Alamo and ate some GREAT Mexican food. And had a scary moment too, that we hope NEVER happens again. More on that later.

Here's Abby as we arrived in our room.
She loved this little throw pillow.

We walked around after dinner the first night and enjoyed the view. Here's a sculpture along the river. I don't know much about it. But, I do know that you could use it as a landmark to find the nearest McDonald's.

My two little loves.

Oh my. This girl LOVED this mirror. Every time I turned around, she was kissing on this mirror. She found a pretty little friend in the mirror and was just mesmerized by her.

I ordered room service one night while Stan was at a game. Abby and I were playing on the floor and I decided to clean up. I got up and put my room service tray outside. Then, the horror, the door shut behind me. Locked. I was outside with no key and Abby was inside playing. And I was barefoot!! I took off in a sprint down to the lobby, grabbed a bellman. He was able to open the door and she was safe and sound. And of course, she was standing in front of the mirror that she loved enjoying the view.

The hotel put this crib in our room for us.
And guess what, she LOVED it. I brought her own sheets and blankets, to help her adapt. No need, she loved this metal jail framed crib.

Here's a little pic taken before we headed off to the Alamo.
I realized later that this was on her actual 11 month Bday!

I went to see the Alamo when I was little, but I don't really remember it. Stan has seen it as an adult and didn't care to go back. But, with Team Spirit, we went!

I'm not sure what this fountain was, but we took a picture of it!

Posing in the garden behind the Alamo.

Good-bye Alamo!
I've had my share. Been there, done that.

We had a great time! The drive down there was long, but Abby made it. Our little family trip was fun, and I look forward to many many more. (I don't look forward to packing for them though!)

Oh, before I forget....here's Abby in her Jailhouse Crib.

My Baby Girl

Before Abby was born, we kept her name a secret and we would just call her Baby Girl. Aunt Sarita found this adorable outfit that says, "Baby Girl" on it and gave it to me at a shower. It is just precious. She's finally able to wear it!! Super Super Cute!

Hehehe....I'm not sure what she is doing. But it's hilarious.

My big tall Baby Girl!!!

Thank you Aunt Sarita!!

She's 11 months old!!!

Okay, well really, she's now almost 11 1/2 months old. I have been lacking on updating the blog lately, I'll TRY to do better. Until then, here she is!! Growing like a Weed!

I love this one!!

This is her new smile these days! so cute.
And yes, that is her new favorite toy in her hand.....a toothbrush.

Abby brush your teeth.

She's getting pretty good about finding "noses".
Looks like she found Mr. Bear's.

And she found his eyes.

"That's all folks!"

My sweet girl: I'm pretty late at writing this letter for you. But, better late than never. You are growing so much. I've already started thinking of your One year pictures and Bday party. I'm so excited that you are almost at this milestone, but so sad that it has all gone by way too fast.

You are constantly trying to eat the fireplace rocks. We tell you "No" and start towards you and then you think it's a game and take off. You love playing the "I'm gonna get you" game. You are such a sweetheart for your teachers at school. They always tell me all the funny things that you did each day.....Like when you OPEN MOUTH KISSED PJ! Oh dear. I almost fell out when then said this. I called your Daddy immediately, and he didn't think it was funny at all.

You have 4 teeth now. You survived your first double ear infection last month. You pull up on everything and let go. I'm afraid that walking is just around the corner for you. You've also started this new little "shy" face. It's so cute. I think it's funny too, because nothing about you is shy. You are just pretending. LOL!
You gibber-jabber all the time now. Sometimes, I just sit and listen to you and let you finish. I know you are really telling me this story, I just don't speak your language yet. I love it. I also love when the TV is on and you hear someone clap. Wherever you are, you start clapping and saying "Yeahhhhh".
We have a really busy next two weeks. I'm so excited to be your Mommy!! love you - as you say, your "mamamamama"

Thank you Granny and Papa!!

"Since it has been a few degrees cooler lately, Mommy thinks I need to be all bundled up now when I go to bed. She searched through my closet and found these PJ's that you guys bought me on one of your trips! I think I'm super cute and so does Mommy. Here's a couple of pics of me wearing my new "moose" PJ's. Thank you!"

Caden's 6th Bday

I can't believe he is 6 YEARS OLD! Ugh... But he is, and the bday party was at his favorite place. McDonalds!

My card sang "Happy Birthday" to him.

Well, Andrea thought she would win "mom of the year" and give him the best gift ever (some kind of game nintendo-thing), FIRST! So, then all of our gifts wouldn't even compete. Here she was trying to convince him that my gift was cool too. He's not convinced.

This is what he did the rest of the party, all the way home, and all night long. Played this game. I hope he at least remembered to bring the gift I got him HOME from McDonalds. I told Andrea from now on, I MUST get him his favorite gifts. I hate being 2nd favorite.

Happy Birthday sweet boy! Aunt Jill loves you! ....and so does Baby Abby and Uncle Stan!

Bye Bye Buggy

She loves this thing. This seems to be the only way they can get her to sleep some days. I feel like I've needed one of these lately. She's had a double ear infection recently and NONE of us were getting much sleep.

Here she is sleeping away. (she's the girl in the orange minus the bow.) And I'm not sure, but I think PJ is snuggling with her as best as he can. He better watch out!

Two of her sweet teachers!
Ms. Adrianne and Ms. Laura

She gives Kisses!!!!!

and it's the most precious thing! :)

First Day of School

Here we go, off to School!! She's such a big girl.

"Look at my teeth everyone."

"Hmmmm....should I take my lotion to school?"

Two bags for the big girl; a diaper bag and a lunch bag.

Had to post these. Look how tall she is. She has to be in the 100% now.

School started a couple of weeks ago now. This post, like all my posts usually, is just a little late. She's been doing ok. She's not been eating much at school and refuses to take her naps. But they are working with her. She's loves her friends and loves riding in the Bye-Bye Buggy. And just to answer those who have asked, she only goes to go school Tues - Fri from 9am- 2pm....ish. It's usually around 10am to 2pm. ;) Just enough time for me to get some work done at the church.

Cousin Mackenzie came to visit!

On Labor Day weekend, while I worked a wedding and Stan went to the OU game, Granny came down and kept Abby and Mackenzie at our house. Mackenzie loves her Baby Abby so much.

Pretty girls ready for breakfast!
Abby is trying to escape but Mackenzie definitely has ahold of her! :)

Kissin' Cousins

And she escaped!

Thanks for coming down Granny to watch our Abby.
And thanks to Mackenzie for all of her help too.

Blue-eyed Sweetness

I know she's my only child so far,
but I'm not sure it gets any sweeter than this!

Happy Birthday Melissa!!

Today is my dear friend Melissa's Birthday!! We couldn't end our day without wishing her the BEST year ever!

I love this one! LOL!
She was looking at me over the camera.

Doing her favorite tongue trick!

Then I tried to add in another sheet! LOL!
She loved all the paper.

She wanted me to play the "I'm gonna get you" Game.

"Play Momma!!"

Happy Birthday Melissa!!
We can't wait to see you in a few weeks.

Oh, this was just extra. She loves to eat wipes these days. gross.
