My heart skipped a beat.....

I went to the vending machine at work a while back and grab a crinkled up dollar that I found tucked away in my wallet and went to put it in the machine. As I was smoothing it out I noticed something.....

Immediately I grabbed the dollar and took a closer look.

I realized that on this sweet dollar was my Granny's name, Jewel. In her handwriting! I must have saved it from a Christmas years ago. We play this game where we all put our names on a dollar. Then someone draws a dollar and the name on the dollar wins the whole bag of money. I remember winning once a long time ago and I must have spent all the dollars and saved Granny's, because it was tucked away in a "safe" place in my wallet. I had simply forgotten all about it.

So yes, my heart skipped a beat realizing how devastated I would have been to have spent that dollar on a bag of chips and a candy bar. And I chuckled a little too. Knowing that was Granny's little way of telling me to stop eating that junk! :)

I love the simple little reminders I get of sweet Granny. I can't believe it's been a little over 4 months since she has passed. Still miss her dearly. I hope God blesses me with these little reminders that make my heart skip a beat for the rest of my days. :)

Just a sweet little day

To school we went....with every baby she could grab on the way out the door.

And by the time I buckled Abby in, this little one was asleep.

Here's Macy "flirting" with her "friend" Grant.

"I'm sorry sweetie. I don't know what's the matter with him either. I don't know why he won't look at you. Just make sure you don't let him know that it got to you....like, don't make that face."

"Just keep looking at your cute self in that mirror."

School is out! To mommy's office we go.

"Can someone help a girl out here?"

"Abby?? can you help me please?"

"Anybody?!!"

The bow came off and Abby's hand went into her mouth. What?

Much better!!

I love that I can take the girls to my office for a couple of hours each day after school and get some work finished if I need to. #perfectjob

Music with Mommy

We had to get to school on time this day as it was "bring your Mommy to music class" day!! Of course, both of our girls LOVE music and I couldn't miss it. I looked crazy that day, but we made it ON time! :)

The whole time I'm taking pictures the teacher is just singing away and we are supposed to be listening and doing what she says. I hope I'm not teaching my children to not pay attention to the teacher. :/

Here's a room full of Macy's "friends". I guess you could call them friends. All they do with one another is just basically look at each other and stare.

My sweet little music lover!

Scarf time. She loved it! Do you think she looks like Mary?

One last shot before Abby's class comes in. :)

I love this. Classic!! Not just the fact that she is yawning at me taking her picture but the fact that she has only been at school for 15 minutes and already has blue marker on her face.

Abby's friend Reece and her mommy

Abby's friend PJ and his mommy. PJ and Abby have been in the same class since they were literally weeks old. :)

"Momma, stop it. None of the other Mommy's are taking pictures."

Scarf time! I have got to get me some of these!

Sweet little PJ

It's a very rare occasion that I get the girls to school on time so this was a special day all around. Abby turned 2 1/2 years old. Music with Mommy. AND, we were there on time!! :) good day.

Happy 2 and a HALF Birthday Abby!!!

This face says it all........

Sweet girl. Having a little breakfast before school. "a little"

I just love how MacyKate adores her big sister!!!

This is how she gets out of the car these days. In my opinion, it's much easier to just get out the open door, RIGHT by your carseat, as there is always someone, aka ME, right there to help you. But, she prefers it this way. :)

Sweet girl.

Happy 2 and a HALF Birthday Abby Jewel!!

Sweet Abby....words just cannot express the love I have for you. You are growing up so much. Everything about you is my favorite. I love the way you talk, laugh and most of all the way you are so sweet to Macy. You are a terrific big sister. I pray God watches over you daily and keeps you safe and healthy. My sweet sweet 2 1/2 yr old. I love you angel! love, your Mommy

The day she turned 6 months

I'm slowing getting caught up on the blog. This was only a little less than 2 months ago now. She's not quite 8 months old today. slowly and surely

Bubble Bath Time!!

Love these two so much!!

Sweet little blue eyes!

I love how Abby is "swimming" here! LOL!!

She's definitely my little clown. No bubble bath is complete without bubbles on the face!...usually though, it's on my face as she blows them at me. ;/

Abby's "new" big girl bed

Two days before Abby turned 2 1/2 I had decided it was time. It was time to put her in a big girl bed. So, with Stan out of town, I disassembled her bed and it was done. Before I could stop myself, I had already taken it apart. She was so excited. She played and played in the bed that morning. And for nap time went straight to sleep, no complaining and no escaping. But the real test would come later that night.

She did okay to say the least. She got out of bed too many times to count. But once she was sound asleep I snuck in there to take two pictures. I'm not sure what possessed me to do that, but I did. It was so dark in there that my flash is what lit up the room in the picture. Another reason why it isn't focused. The camera couldn't find anything to focus on as it dark. :) I would probably kill anyone else for taking a picture of my sleeping baby for fear that that she would wake up, but oh well. I did it and she slept right through it! :)

Still sound asleep.
The next day I caught her in her room playing in her "new" bed. so cute

Oh, and in case you were wondering, this is how sweet MK sleeps best these days. And, I just let her. :)

Abby did great in her bed that first week that Stan was out of town. Now that he is back and we are on a more normal routine. We know that after we lay her down, we pray with her and just wait. She will meet us in the living room asking for whatever she needs. Her bunny, her Minnie, her blanket is messed up....usually she comes out 2-3 times, but after that last threatening of a spanking, she knows we are for real in our voices and she usually falls asleep.

Pops' little Chick

Back before Easter, Pops had some baby chicks hatch. Of course, my little animal lover had to see, touch and hold it.

Drew, the supervisor, is starting to notice something.....

Yep, the chick pooped. Notice Abby is not phased at all. LOL!!

Macy and Drew.

MK is almost 6 months and Drew is 10 1/2 years.

Macy's tries her first baby food....squash!

I can't believe she's even old enough to start baby food. But she is and squash was her first food. :)

She liked it okay. It was better at first then as it got cold, she wasn't really having it much more.
I mean seriously, could you eat with this little distraction in the background singing and rearranging Mommy's flowers.

Here are 4 videos that I took during the evening. So cute!!

Sitting up

She couldn't quite sit up all by herself, but she sure looked cute trying!

Sweet Baby Clara

Back in the beginning of April, I took Abby and Macy over to meet sweet little Clara Rose. This is by far NOT the best picture of this angel, but I did the best I could.
Sweet little chubs. We don't have to worry about how we look at Jessica's house. She's family. Here's Macy as we tell her she's not the newest baby anymore. She's just sitting here processing that information. Ha!

I love this. They were both so sweet with her.

I wish I remember why she made that face. Guess that's what I get for being 3 months behind on blogging. :(

Hard to believe that Jess and I have two kids each now. We are growing up. ;)

Muffin Tin

I thought I would try something new to see if Abby would eat more. Brittney gave me this idea.
She immediately said it was "so cute!!" but grab her pretzels and just ate the salt off of them. :/ I ended up leaving out the muffin tin the rest of the day and she went back to it after her nap and ate a little bit more.

I'm praying this one doesn't have the same picky-eating trait as her sister. So far, she'll eat anything I give her, except for peas. And I promised her we would have them again for a while. :)
