It's Stan again. This time at 3:23 AM on Friday. We're starting Day 6 with the Abster, and she's not quite in the groove. Or should I say not quite on the boob.
Jill is struggling to keep little Abby interested in breastfeeding. Tonight, she's been crying quite a bit, so I'm up to lend a helping hand. However, not being equipped with breastmilk puts me at a distinct disadvantage, so I've decided to at least contribute by updating her blog.
And it gives me an excuse to squeeze in another photo of my little darling. Jill probably won't like it, since I'm in the pic and not her. Kinda like Confusious always said, "He who controls the keyboard likely to be the one pictured." Okay, he never said that, but whatever. Remember people, it's 3:30 AM.
This photo was self-snapped Thursday evening with my Blackberry. Little Abby had a belly full of milk and was just 'chillin' on top of Otis, Daddy's name for his own belly. Abby is a tiny thing, and hanging around guys like Otis doesn't help!
Well, she's settled in and appears to be eating now. I'd better run and get ready for my part of the feeding routine - giving her a formula supplement after she's done with the real thing.
Until next time, here's to a glass half full of breastmilk! Cheers!

O.M.G. This is hilarious. So many things about it 1)The fact that Stanley is blogging about breastfeeding 2)The sleepiness in Stanley's face (eyes & hair) 3)His "distinct disadvantage" 4)"Cheers!"
Lord have mercy. Jillie--you're doing so great (as is Stanley)! I can't imagine (but I'm sure I'll soon experience) how exhausting the whole thing is... But you're really taking it in stride! And the fact that she hasn't lost an ounce since she left the hospital is seriously impressive!
Call me when you're up for chatting. I don't want to interrupt a possible sleeping moment. Love you!
SWEET SWEET SWEET SWEET SWEET! :) What a good dad.
Call me after you've had two boys!...kidding - Take care of our sweet Abby!
So precious! (and hilarious). Stan, I'm most impressed with your ability to be funny while you're this exhausted. At least, I assume you guys are as worn out as we are. Too bad babies don't have snooze alarms, huh? Abby will get the hang of the boob soon enough! :)
Just the title alone cracked me up for the last hour!!!
What a sweet post!
I laughed out loud and then read it to my mom and husband so hey could laugh too! Hilarious! ...And, what a sweet Daddy to help out with those middle of the night feedings! ...I promise, it will get easier! Hang in there...she's precious! I can't wait to hold her!!!
Awww... That is a really sweet picture and a great post by daddy Stan. Jill, I know these first few weeks can be really trying, but they don't last long. (I know, easy for me to say, right?)
